Many, especially workers on Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Obalende and CMS, were forced to remain in their offices after closing, following the downpour. Vehicular movement came to a standstill in many places, because of the serious flooding caused by the near collapsed drainage system.
Worst hit were such streets as Toyin, Opebi, Allen, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Agege Motor Road, Jibowu and Airport Road, where the flood completely impeded both human and vehicular movements.
At 10.00 p.m., many passengers were still stranded in Ikeja, Oshodi, Ojota, Mile 2, Maryland, Yaba, Obalende, Ikoyi, Victoria Island with no commercial vehicles coming their way.

Only a few commercial motorcyclists plied their trade after the rain subsided at 10.00 p.m., while thousands of passengers resorted to walking.
Some residents of the metropolis who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune expressed dismay at the serious flooding that resulted from the downpour, calling on the state government to fix the drainage system of the city.
Many people had to remove their shoes to wade through the flood, while commercial vehicle drivers took advantage of the situation to exploit commuters.
The rain also led to an increase in transport fare. A ride from Ketu to Ikorodu which used to cost N150 moved to N300, representing 100 per cent hike.

Fashola say its the raining season and the floods are back, we need to invite the hurricane Fashola to work out the floods out of Lagos State Do you know any area thats being flooded in Lagos state? Please holla out!!!!!
